Nov 28, 2007: PowerShell+ free for non-commercial use

For immediate release: Today, Shell Tools announced the immediate public availability of PowerShell+ Beta which can be downloaded from http://www.powershell.com/downloads/psp1.zip.
PowerShell+ will remain free for non-commercial use even when  the final version ships - which is expected early next year.

PowerShell+ is the first Administrator-centered application with a rich PowerShell script editor, debugging capabilities and interactive console. ShellTools calls it a "second generation" PowerShell application. PowerShell+ is the commercial-strength successor of the widely known PowerShellIDE - the worlds very first PowerShell editor.

"With our committment to the community and the free-for-noncommercial-use policy in place, we are now inviting everyone to test drive and participate in beta testing to make this a premier community PowerShell tool.", explains Dr. Tobias Weltner, one of ShellTools software architects and responsible for PowerShell+ development.

Oct 21, 2007: PowerShell Suite: PowerShell+ free for existing customers

For immediate release: Today, Shell Tools announced that PowerShell Analyzer licenses will also work for PowerShell+ at no additional cost. PowerShell+ is the world's first PowerShell editing environment that is based on a native console, ensuring 100% PowerShell compatibility as well as 100% native application compatibility. It also comes with an integrated debugger and rich intellisense-enabled document support for powershell script as well as .NET languages and XML.

Software Architect Dr. Tobias Weltner explains: "Since PowerShell is such a new and dynamic console and script concept, traditional editor concepts just did not work well. This is why we had two entire development teams compete internally. The results are two different products that both are great and tackle the needs of powershell from different perspectives, each providing specialized functionality. We will keep both and eventually combine them into one comprehensive product. Until that happens, our customers can use both for the price of one."

Existing customers of PowerShellAnalyzer can test-drive PowerShell+ now. Anyone else interested can view a tour on http://www.powershell.com/plus/video1.html. Shell Tool's reduced introductory offer of $129,00 for the PowerShell Suite will end soon when PowerShellAnalyzer 1.0 Final is released later this year..

Oct 11, 2007: PowerShell+ Beta released

For immediate release: Shell Tools disclosed today details of their latest development called "PowerShell+". PowerShell+ is a revolutionary editor concept that centers around a true console window. In contrast to existing consoles including Microsofts PowerShell console, PowerShell+ adds all features of a modern UI including intellisense-like help, real-time monitoring, and debugging. Because of the true console at its heart, PowerShell+ is fully compatible to both PowerShell and native applications running inside PowerShell. PowerShell+ Beta is available exclusively to PowerShellAnalyzer customers as of today.
